FAQs

  1. Any member of the public who has used a hotel, restaurant or spa in Ghana;
  2. Any hospitality personnel who works in the hotel industry in the Ghana, can nominate their colleague(s) or business for an award.
  3. Any booker/executive assistant/travel agent which represents a company which normally books hotels /serviced apartments, restaurants and spas can nominate, however they are required to include the company’s name to avoid duplication of entries.

You can submit more than one nomination; however separate forms must be completed for each nomination.

You can NOT submit a nomination for yourself. If you would like to be considered for an award, please approach a member of staff in your public relations or human resources department who can assist you by submitting a nomination on your behalf.

For the purposes of the GEM Awards, all users of spa, hotel, serviced apartment and lounge facilities in Ghana, irrespective of nationalities can submit nominations. Nominations can be submitted for any business or individual operating in Ghana.

Please read the categories list carefully and fill out the nomination form to the best of your ability, including as much detail as possible and any proof points you can offer, such as evidence of the candidate/ business meeting and exceeding KPIs or growth targets and examples of outstanding performance/ achievements. Any nomination found to contain false information will be disqualified.

Please return your submission(s) by 31st August 2018. Entries will not be accepted after this date.

Every category will be judged by our panel of experts or ‘Disrupt Committee’ as we’d like to call them to ensure the competition is transparent and fair. Validation will be overseen by a prestigious auditing firm. The judging panel & auditing firm will be announced shortly.

When nominations close on 31st August 2018, the team at GEM Awards will then send all the entries to the expert judges or ‘Disrupt Committee’, along with a score card. The judges will score the entries and return them to the team with the shortlisted nominees. Alongside online review analysis of these nominees final scores will then be calculated by the experts. The shortlisted candidates will be contacted and required to attend the awards ceremony in Accra on Friday, 9th November 2018. The winners will be announced live that evening.
